Harit Safar works within this transition to advance urban mobility that is clean, inclusive, and sustainable, partnering with state governments and key stakeholders to design transport systems that meet present-day needs while aligning with global sustainability goals: Climate Action, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Reduced Inequalities.

Baseline research under the programme found that air pollution, climate change, and social inequality are largely perceived as separate issues rather than interconnected outcomes of the same mobility systems. Harit Safar addresses this gap by generating local evidence and building a shared regional network of government departments, civil society, researchers, and daily commuters, demonstrating how integrated mobility solutions can reduce pollution, strengthen climate resilience, and improve equity.
