We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Researcher to support our Research Lead in conducting primary and secondary research, data collection, and analysis in thematic areas including Gender and Urban Transport, Urban Planning, and Decarbonization
initiatives in high carbon industries such as Textiles, Tourism, and Brick Kilns. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability, social equity, environmental policies, and climate justice, along with strong research skills and the ability to work both independently
and collaboratively.
- Conduct primary and secondary research on topics related to Gender and Urban Transport, Urban Planning, and Decarbonization initiatives in high-carbon industries.
- Assist in collecting and analysing data from various sources, including literature reviews, interviews, surveys, and database development.
- Administrating or supervising questionnaires in Fieldwork activities, conducting FGDs and field surveys.
- Collaborate with the Research Lead to develop research methodologies, frameworks, and data collection tools.
- Organize and manage research materials, databases, and documents efficiently and systematically.
- Assist in drafting reports, articles, presentations, and other research outputs based on findings and analysis.
- Stay updated on relevant literature, policies, and developments in the field of interest.
- Provide support in organizing meetings, workshops, and events related to research projects.
- Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders as needed to achieve research objectives.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Urban Studies, Environmental Science, Sociology, Economics, policies, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in Gender and Urban Transport, Urban Planning, and/or Decarbonization initiatives.
- Strong research skills, including gathering, analysing, and synthesizing data from primary and secondary sources.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and research software/tools. (Excel and any statistical software working knowledge is a must)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
